A lot of love, a standard
amount of perseverance, and a little help from friends
(along with a few well-placed cheeseburgers, of course),
proved to be what this big, beautiful boy needed. Although Blacktop may have taken the "road less traveled" to his championship, he reached his destination enjoying the journey. A huge thank you to our friend and handler, Dannielle Malcolm, for showing Blacktop how to strut his stuff and love it. Blacktop will finish out 2007 in the special's ring on a limited basis. Almost 9 years old and still trucking like a youngster! Blacktop took a short break from retirement to show up at the Puget Sound Akita Specialty shows and in jaw-dropping style, goes Best Veteran all four days to thunderous applause and numerous compliments. With effortless movement and a bright, spirited attitude, he reminds all of us that age is all a mindset! |
